Topic: Dumping Instructions
Please note a true Plextor Drive is needed
These three things are needed to be able to create a rawdump image.
1. A SubDump of the disc
2. A scrambled dump of the disc
3. A Lead-In & Pregap dump
1. A SubDump of the disc is obtained by using this command subdump -i ?: -f test.sub -mode 6 -rereadnum 25 -speed 4 -flushspeed 4 -fix 2
where ? should be changed to the letter of your Plextor drive.
Discs manufactured by Sony (year 1993-1996) with offset +2 needs to be dumped using mode 1 instead of mode 6, this is because of a random 1,2,3 pattern in the R through W channel.
2. A scrambled dump of the disc is obtained this way, first check the logfile produced by Subdump on row 7 how many sectors the disc has (sectorQuantity: 120000), write that number down (in this example it is 120000)
Use this command in DiscImageCreator DiscImageCreator audio ?: MAIN 4 0 120000
where ? should be changed to the letter of your Plextor drive, and 120000 at the end is the amount of sectors in the log file produced by SubDump. Do this step twise and check the *.bin file so that they are identical for eatch dump, if identical, save only one copy, go to next step.
3. A Lead-In & Pregap dump is obtained also using DiscImageCreator by using this command DiscImageCreator audio ?: TOC-PREGAP 4 -5000 -1000 where ? Should be changed to the letter of your Plextor Drive.
LibCrypt protected discs needs to be dumped using this settings instead DiscImageCreator audio ?: TOC-PREGAP 4 -19000 -1000 where ? Should be changed to the letter of your Plextor Drive.
With all these steps done, you should compress everything produced from these three steps into a file named after the disc id number for the dump in redump.org's db.
Upload the dump for examination, when its done a clean rawdump will be sent back to you in return.
First dump? contact me (gorelord4e) or any other staff member to get access to our ftp, where you can upload the dumped content.
